TYPO3 Developer
The whole platform, not just the templates — extensions, upgrades and the decisions that make a site last.
The work
TYPO3 is what we are known for. Agencies bring us in for the parts that are hard to staff: a v8 install that has to become v14 without a rewrite, an extension that needs to survive three more major versions, an editorial model that a hundred editors will actually use.
You will move between building and rescuing. Both are interesting; the second one is where you learn what the first one should have looked like.
What you bring
- Solid TYPO3 practice across recent majors — v12, v13 and v14 — and a sense of what changed between them.
- Extension development: Extbase and Fluid, TCA, the DataHandler, middlewares, events, and knowing when the answer is plain PHP instead.
- TypoScript and site sets without fear, plus the newer content model — Content Blocks, or the readiness to learn it quickly.
- Major upgrades and migrations: reading a legacy install, planning the jumps, keeping content and URLs intact.
- Multilingual, composer-based projects and a local setup you control (we use DDEV).
- Good communication, and very good spoken and written English.
Nice to have
TYPO3 certification, contributions to core or to public extensions, experience with Solr, or a background in another CMS to compare against. German is a big plus — much of our client base is in the DACH region.
What you get
- Deep work on a platform instead of shallow work on ten.
- Room in the TYPO3 community: we speak at Developer Days, publish extensions, and pay for the time it takes.
- Colleagues who have done the migration you are about to attempt.
