The starting point
We took over a complex job portal running on an outdated Symfony stack — hard to maintain, error-prone and technically behind. Project takeovers like this are our specialty: first work our way in thoroughly, then create transparency about the real state.
Our approach
We worked methodically instead of just treating symptoms:
- Modernised the stack: we brought the system up to the latest Symfony version and replaced outdated patterns — the basis for maintainability and performance.
- Worked through the bugs: a list of at least 60 items we fixed step by step and sustainably.
- Improved the frontend: in parallel we noticeably upgraded the interface — from performance to usability.
The result
In total, around 150 hours went into the project — resulting in a stable, modern and maintainable system that is a pleasure again instead of a worry. A good example that we do more than TYPO3: where a Symfony project is stuck, we take over, modernise and deliver.
